Doesn't Stripe already work with ChatGPT or Claude?
Many apps now offer their own built-in connection to AI assistants, listed in ChatGPT and Claude as apps or connectors. One person switches it on, signs in, and their assistant can reach that one app.
As of October 2026, Stripe makes its own app for ChatGPT and its own connector for Claude, and Stripe joined Anthropic's Claude for Small Business bundle in September 2026. Stripe's documentation says they can look up payments, customers and subscriptions, and can also create invoices and payment links, issue refunds and cancel subscriptions, asking for confirmation on actions like refunds.
Stripe's checkout inside ChatGPT is a different thing: that's for shoppers buying, not for your team asking about your account. For your team, the question is who may move money, and which number counts as 'sales'.
